“They were talking about the forest. But before she saw by herself, how dark and surprising it is with its humming trees, she didn’t understand what the forest is. And now she was laughing quietly only because rivers and trees exist. She almost couldn’t understand it – there are enormous trees and great water and they are alive, can you not smile just at the thought of it?”.
The heroine of Astrid Lindgren’s classic novel is a “child of the forest”, she lives in symbiosis with nature, she’s sensitive to the needs and suffering od animals, she is guided by brotherhood and tenderness in her relations with people. She must find herself in a world ruled by robbers.
What adventures await Ronja? Will her feelings for Birk survive despite the conflict of two feuding families of robbers? Can children be more open and show more courage than adults?
A play for families, for viewers aged 7 and older.
